SPACEPLD SPACE · MIURA 5
Before it flew, it travelled by road.
We designed and built the container that protects the first stage of Miura 5, PLD Space's orbital launcher, on its journey by road and sea.

The first stage of Miura 5.
The complete stage of Spain's first private orbital launcher, with its engines and structure, which can withstand neither impacts nor moisture.
An 18.4 m container.
Calculated lattice frame, cradles at the stage interfaces, sealed enclosure with dry nitrogen, desiccant and impact logging.
A whole stage, intact and dry.
The first stage had to travel complete from the integration plant to the port, and from there to the launch site, without distortion, without humidity and with the structure held at its interface points.
Structure, cradle and atmosphere.
Lattice frame engineered for lifting and abnormal-load transport, machined cradles at the stage interfaces, sealed enclosure with N₂ inlet, desiccant boxes and impact loggers.
Delivered on time.
Container delivered in 14 weeks with a design justification report and certificate of conformity. Load and sealing tests passed at our facilities.
